17) The Lion On The
Path by Hugh Tracey - My father
lived in Zimbabwe for several years as a young man and heard these stories
in their original Karanga language. His translations are designed for
reading out loud, and spring to life right off the page! There are charming
illustrations and musical notations of the many little songs that characterize
these tales. I grew up with these stories and I find that no one outgrows
them!
Hardback, 25 stories, 127
pages of Lion, Rabbit, Elephant, Tortoise and the people who walk the
same paths through the African countryside. First published in England,
now privately published by me in Santa Monica. $15.00
18) Fathers
First Car - by Hugh Tracey. A splendid study of English eccentricity!
My grandfather was a country doctor, and the first man in his part of
Devonshire to own a motor car. This 1907 Peugeot took complete charge
of him, his practice and his family!
Many years later my father
discovered my grandfathers motoring diary and edited it for publication.
The result is a highly amusing picture of one familys change from
horses to horsepower. First published in England, now privately published
by me in Santa Monica. Hardback, 85 pages with photos. $12.00
